At Richland Township Fire and EMS, we are dedicated to safeguarding our community through professional, compassionate, and timely emergency services. Our team of highly trained firefighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians work around the clock to protect lives, property, and the environment.
We serve the southwestern corner of Holmes County as an all-volunteer department, responding to fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, technical rescues, and a wide range of community hazards — from downed power lines to carbon monoxide alarms.
Our Special Operations division brings advanced rescue capabilities to Richland Township and to mutual-aid calls throughout the region. Members are trained in:

Our fleet supports fire suppression, EMS, technical rescue, and off-road response across Richland Township and surrounding mutual-aid districts.
Class A pumper — the primary fire suppression apparatus for structural, vehicle, and commercial fires.
Water tender supporting rural fire response where hydrants are limited — our long-haul water supply.
Special Operations / Technical Rescue Team apparatus — rope, confined space, structural collapse, and heavy rescue.
Four-wheel-drive brush truck with on-board water and hose reel — first response for grass, field, and wildland fires.
Advanced life support ambulance providing medical response and coordination with regional air medical transport.
Off-road unit for wilderness rescue and brush fires in areas our full-size apparatus can't reach.
